Jargon Buster - What does it all mean?
ARTF
ARTF when used in connection with model aircraft means "Almost Ready to fly".
This term can be quite wideranging but often models although normally 90% + prebuilt will require several hours work or more to complete depending on model choice and your skill level. This will also often include fitting of servo's and motors etc.
These models often require addditional components to complete and this almost always means that you will have to buy a transmitter unit if you do not already have one.
Please note that the cost of completing an ARTF model can be several times the models initial price if you do not already have some or all of the required items.

In many cases ARTF models when completed require more skill than most RTF models to fly and are mostly not the best choice for beginners. It is easier to hone your skills on a low cost RTF trainer before tackling a more complicated model.

Please contact us for advice or information prior to purchase if in any way unsure.
RTF
When used in reference to Radio control models it means "Ready to fly" ie All the items needed to get your model flying are in the box. A small amount of work may be needed to attach things such as wings but this is normally only a few (5 - 10)minutes work. You will also have to charge the aircraft battery.
The only exception is on some cheaper RTF models where you MAY have to supply batteries for the transmitter. These are usually AA size batteries widely available.
